A New Chapter for My Jewellery Making Workshops in 2026

I wanted to take a moment to share an update on how workshops are running in the studio—and to say a very big thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far.

Over the past year, the way workshops are offered has evolved organically, shaped largely by your feedback and the way people genuinely want to book, learn, and create.

Why the workshops have changed

Throughout 2025, I began trialling a new approach: merging individual workshops into longer, more flexible sessions.

One of the most common pieces of feedback I received—again and again—was the request for more dates and more flexible times. Merging workshops has allowed exactly that, while also creating a more relaxed, enjoyable experience in the studio.

By combining workshops:

  • More dates can be offered throughout the year

  • Friends and groups can attend together while making different pieces

  • Sessions feel calmer, with more time to learn and enjoy the process

  • The studio calendar can adapt more easily to demand

This format has been incredibly well received, so for 2026 this is now the standard way workshops will run.

Alongside these changes, 2025 also saw the introduction of two brand new workshops—Precious Metal Clay and Spinner Rings. Both were born from a desire to expand what’s offered in the studio and to give people new ways to explore jewellery making, texture, movement, and process. Watching these workshops grow and seeing how enthusiastically they’ve been received has been incredibly encouraging, and they’ll continue to be part of the evolving workshop offering as things move forward.

Thank you (a big one)

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has attended a workshop and taken the time to share feedback with me—whether in person, via email, or through reviews. Your suggestions genuinely shape how things develop here.

I’ve now taught over 100 workshops, which still feels a little surreal to write. And to those of you who have left a Google review—thank you so much. Those kind words truly mean the world to me and help others find the studio more than you might realise.

Booking workshops for 2026

The first quarter of workshops (running up to May) is now available to book online, with more dates to be released later in the year.

Because workshops have been merged, individual workshop pages (such as stacking rings or specific earring styles) no longer display dates. Instead, bookings are now handled through the main workshop pages—such as Silver Ring Making Workshops or Earring & Pendant Making Workshops—where all availability is shown in one place.

A note for voucher holders

If you’ve received a workshop voucher, please be reassured that this change does not affect your voucher’s validity. Vouchers can still be redeemed as usual.

That said, because of the merge, some e-vouchers may not immediately link to the correct booking page. If you run into any issues at all, please reach out—I’m always happy to help get things sorted.

Mindfulness making: more than just jewellery

Something that comes up time and time again in workshops is how calming the experience feels. This idea of mindfulness making is something I want to talk about more openly.

Mindful making is about slowing down, working with your hands, and being fully present in the process. For a few hours, the outside world quietens. There’s no pressure to be perfect—just the simple act of learning, creating, and focusing on one thing at a time.

For many people, workshops become a rare opportunity to switch off, reconnect with themselves, and leave with something tangible that they’re proud of.

A little personal history

Some of you may already know that I came to making jewellery through my own experiences with trauma. During a time when everything felt overwhelming, sitting down, slowing my breath, and creating something with my hands became a grounding and deeply healing process. Working with metal required focus, patience, and presence—and in that space, my mind had room to rest.

Making gave me a sense of control when things felt uncertain. It reminded me that progress doesn’t have to be rushed, that mistakes can be reworked, and that something beautiful can come from time, care, and persistence.

That personal connection is a huge part of why these workshops matter so much to me. Watching someone’s shoulders drop as they settle into the process, seeing the pride on their face when they realise they made this, and hearing how nice it’s been to “shut out the world” for a few hours—it genuinely never gets old. Creating space for others to experience that same calm, focus, and quiet joy feels incredibly meaningful, and it’s at the heart of everything I offer in the studio.

Looking ahead (and giving back)

With the rising costs of precious metals—something I touched on in a previous post—I, like many other makers, am entering a challenging and unpredictable year. (Yay self-employment!)

That said, your continued support means more to me than I can easily put into words. It’s because of this support—and the conversations I have in the studio every week—that I’ve started exploring something new.

I’m currently in the very early stages of looking into a small grant-style scheme, which would allow a nominated person to attend a workshop of their choosing free of charge. This wouldn’t be publicly promoted or attached to any spotlight—it would simply be a quiet, thoughtful way to give something back.

And this idea isn’t just about finances. It might be for someone who never takes time for themselves, someone quietly struggling with the weight of everyday life, or someone who’s never had the chance to create something with their hands before. It could be for a carer, a parent, a friend who always puts others first, or simply someone who would benefit from a few hours of calm, focus, and creativity.

I would hate to think that money—or even the feeling of not being “the sort of person who does things like this”—could ever be the thing holding someone back from joy, creativity, or connection. Creating space to slow down, learn something new, and leave with a sense of pride feels more important than ever.

So I’ll put the question out there—what do you think? It’s still very early days (I’m very much in the logistics stage), but this idea has grown directly from the stories, conversations, and moments shared in the studio, combined with my own experiences.

If anyone has any thoughts, suggestions or areas of expertise, I’d absolutely love to hear from you—please feel free to get in touch with me.

Thank you

Thank you for being here, for supporting small creative businesses, for showing up with curiosity and kindness, and for helping shape what these workshops have become.

There are exciting things in motion for later this year, and I can’t wait to share more with you soon.
