Have you ever dreamed of creating your own piece of jewellery? At The Creative Coach House, I'm passionate about sharing the ancient craft of metalsmithing through hands-on workshops that welcome everyone from complete beginners to those looking to expand their skills. Let me take you through everything you need to know about our jewellery making workshops.
A Heartfelt Thank You
Before we dive into the details, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported my small business. To those who have attended workshops previously - your enthusiasm and participation have enabled me to reinvest in the business, and your feedback has been invaluable. I'm excited to announce that new workshops will be announced soon!
A special thank you also goes to those wonderful clients who have taken the time to leave Google reviews. Your feedback means the world to me and helps others discover the joy of jewellery making. Your support has brought a huge smile to my face and keeps me motivated to share this beautiful craft with more people.
Why I Teach Jewellery Making
Teaching jewellery making isn't just about sharing techniques - it's about preserving a craft that connects us to centuries of tradition. In our fast-paced, digital world, there's something profoundly satisfying about creating something beautiful with your own hands, understanding the time, skill, and passion that goes into every handmade piece.
I believe in the importance of passing on skills that might otherwise be lost. When you attend one of my workshops, you're not just learning to make jewellery - you're becoming part of a lineage of craftspeople who have valued quality, creativity, and the meditative process of working with metal.
Education is at the heart of what I do. Many people have never experienced what truly goes into handmade jewellery. Through my workshops, I want to open your eyes to the complexity, artistry, and dedication behind every piece. When you understand the process, you gain a deeper appreciation for craftsmanship and the value of handmade items.
But perhaps most importantly, I teach because I want to offer you creative freedom. In my workshops, there are no rigid rules - only guidance and encouragement to explore your own artistic vision. I want you to discover the joy and passion that comes from creating something uniquely yours.
The History of Our Creative Space
The Creative Coach House has a rich history that makes it the perfect place for learning traditional crafts. This workshop has housed many carpenters over the years, and back when apprenticeships were more common, many skilled craftspeople made their way through these very walls. The space carries the spirit of learning, teaching, and mastering traditional skills.
Having been fortunate to obtain such a large, characterful space in Cardiff, it felt only natural for me to want to open the doors and teach. This 101-year-old workshop, which I've called home since 2021, seems to have been waiting for this purpose - to once again become a place where skills are passed from master to apprentice, where creativity flourishes, and where the satisfaction of making something beautiful with your own hands is rediscovered.

What Our Clients Say
Don't just take my word for it - here's what our workshop attendees have shared:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 stars on Google
"Had a great time at the workshop. Rebecca is really knowledgeable and takes time to explain everything you are doing, making sure that your items are perfect at every step of the way. She is keen to share her expertise and make sure you get as much out of your time with her as possible. The workshop is quaint and quirky and has a real sense of history and Rebecca is very much connected to the building. I really enjoyed my time with her and am already planning a return visit as I came away with two lovely silver bangles. I would definitely recommend attending one of her workshops."
"Beyond wonderful experience! We did a one day wedding ring workshop with the talented Rebecca. It was fascinating from beginning to end learning to make the rings and our finished rings are beautiful. Rebecca went above and beyond to make the day special with a bespoke lunch, pink fizz to celebrate and let us bring our doggy in. Highly recommended for a beautiful day to remember, I will treasure it along with the rings."
"We did a one day workshop with Rebecca for my partners birthday, and had a truly wonderful time. She went above and beyond to make our creations come to life.
Due to Rebecca’s bright personality and detailed silversmithing knowledge the session was a delight and very informative. Rebecca was excellent at supporting us when we needed it, but also gave us the freedom try new things, learn different techniques, and make mistakes. She allowed us to be incredibly experimental and create amazing pieces of jewellery we didn’t think were even possible. We both felt we had Rebecca’s full attention (and patience), and came away feeling like we had learnt so much compared to other workshops with larger groups.
We would highly recommend Rebecca’s in-depth workshops and beautiful silversmithing."
